This Privacy Policy describes how Shipcheck ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects information from Shopify merchants ("you", "your") who install and use the Shipcheck app ("App").

When you install and use Shipcheck, we collect the following types of information:

  • Shopify store details (e.g., shop domain, shop ID, store name, email, owner name)
  • Store configuration data for shipping protection settings
  • Order-related data necessary for tracking protection purchases (order ID, currency, protection price)
  • App usage and interaction events (collected via Mixpanel, without personal or customer-sensitive data)

2. How we use your information

We use the information collected to:

  • Provide and operate the Shipcheck app and related services
  • Customize and improve the merchant experience
  • Send transactional or important account-related communications
  • Occasionally send promotional updates or product announcements (opt-out available)
  • Track feature usage and diagnose performance via Mixpanel (no customer-sensitive data included)

3. Data storage and security

Your data is stored securely in our PostgreSQL database and is accessible only to authorized personnel. We follow industry-standard practices to protect your data from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.

4. Third-party services

We use trusted third-party services like Mixpanel for product analytics. These services do not receive any personally identifiable or sensitive data related to your customers.

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any third parties for marketing or unrelated purposes.

5. Access and deletion of data

If you uninstall the Shipcheck app or submit a data deletion (redact) request, we will delete all associated data from our systems in accordance with Shopify's App Data Deletion Policy.

6. International use

Shipcheck is available globally. By using the App, you understand that your data may be processed and stored in countries where we or our service providers operate.

7. Children's privacy

Shipcheck is intended for use by Shopify merchants. We do not knowingly collect any information from individuals under the age of 13.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you within the app or via email. Continued use of the App after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
